The Assistant Chief Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in managing all housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest service across guest staterooms, public areas, crew accommodations, open decks, and main laundry. Responsibilities include supervising a multicultural team, scheduling, inventory control, inspections, training, and performance evaluations. The role ensures compliance with MLC 2006, USPH, safety regulations, and company standards. The Assistant Chief Housekeeper leads daily operations, manages guest feedback, supports team development, and upholds budgetary and procedural guidelines while promoting a positive service culture and maintaining efficient workflow and exceptional guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing large-scale housekeeping operations on ships or resorts/hotels.
  • Degree in Business Administration or Hotel Management preferred.
  • Proven leadership of large, multicultural teams with multiple management-level direct reports.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills; additional languages a plus.
  • Guest-focused, service-oriented, with high standards of hygiene and professional appearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC-based systems; familiar with hotel/ship systems and public health compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation, chemicals, HR procedures, and training practices.
  • Organized, motivated, flexible, and effective under pressure.
