As an Assistant Cabin Steward/Stewardess, you support the Cabin Steward in maintaining cleanliness and presentation of guest staterooms, suites, balconies, and corridors within your assigned section. You’ll handle tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and upholstery, and assisting with luggage during guest embarkation and disembarkation. You’ll work under the direction of cabin housekeeping management, adhering to public health standards and ship sanitation protocols. Expected to maintain impeccable personal grooming and uniform standards, you’ll also participate in safety drills, training sessions, and assist with inventory and cabin orientation services for guests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or international equivalent with 1–3+ years of experience in hospitality housekeeping or chambermaid roles, ideally in ships or upscale hotels.
- Clear, conversational English communication skills; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
- Familiarity with U.S. Public Health sanitation standards (USPH) or equivalent vessel hygiene regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple cleaning tasks independently.
- Physically fit-able to lift up to \~55 lbs (25 kg), stand for extended periods, and move between cabins efficiently.
- Demonstrated team‑work skills and ability to follow supervisor instructions.
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and discretion when handling guest information and belongings.
