The Assistant Purser supports the smooth operation of guest relations, financial tasks, and administrative duties in coordination with the Chief Purser or Manager of Accounting & Administration. Responsibilities include assisting with guest check-in, face checks, board card printing, and reception desk operations to minimize guest wait times. The role involves training and guiding reception staff in using key systems (e.g., Fidelio, POS, ConSense), supporting complaint handling, and participating in guest relations events. Additional duties include managing visitor and passport handling, luggage duties, lost and damaged baggage support, coordinating office supplies, and maintaining meeting protocols and administrative records.
Qualifications
- Completed apprenticeship in hospitality or service-related industry.
- High school diploma required; degree in hospitality or business preferred.
- Previous guest service experience, ideally in tourism, finance, or onboard environments.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and department-specific systems).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; guest-oriented with professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic financial knowledge and cash-handling experience.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Flexible, service-minded, and well-organized with a positive attitude.
