The Assistant Storekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring smooth production flow in the Food & Beverage (F\&B) department and maintaining food safety standards. Responsibilities include delivering ordered goods on schedule, assisting with proper storage and securing of items, and managing inventory by following First-In-First-Out (FIFO) procedures and checking expiration dates. The role also involves reporting damages, discrepancies, and technical issues to supervisors, as well as supporting loading operations and the issuance of provisions. The Assistant Storekeeper helps maintain clean and secure storage areas, including walk-in refrigerators and dry stores, and follows daily cleaning routines. They are expected to communicate effectively with supervisors, wear appropriate PPE, use correct lifting techniques, and follow ship safety protocols. This position requires teamwork, strong work ethics, and adherence to company standards for hygiene, grooming, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years’ experience as an Assistant Storekeeper / Inventory Manager or in a similar role; shipboard experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of hotel food, beverages, consumables, uniforms, chemicals, and equipment.
- Experience in storeroom operations with focus on cost control, waste and spoilage/breakage management.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
- Proven leadership experience with multi-cultural teams and strong administrative skills.
- Proficient in PC-based software, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing; experience with MXP preferred.
- Positive, hands-on attitude with professional appearance and high hygiene standards
- In-depth knowledge of Public Health policies; team-oriented with strong work ethic, coaching, and motivational skills
