The Assistant Bartender supports the Bartender and Beverage Manager and handles opening and closing of guest and service bars, and prepares a variety of beverages per standard recipes. Delivers friendly, efficient service, ensuring guest satisfaction while enforcing age verification and alcohol service policies. Maintains bar cleanliness and adheres to USPH and safety standards. Supports daily operations, including stocking, garnishing, ice management, cleaning, and occasional crew bar duties. Drives revenue through up-selling, suggestive selling, and promotions. Manages beverage inventory, ensures proper stock rotation, and places supply orders. Helps meet sales and cost targets, follows ERP protocols, and assists with training and supervising bar staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality apprenticeship and bartender training preferred
  • 2–3 years’ experience in bars, hotels, or resorts; cruise ship and flair bartending experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails and international alcohol brands
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and basic math skills
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages beneficial
  • Outgoing, professional, and adaptable in fast-paced, multicultural settings
  • Minimum age 21; valid passport; clean criminal record
  • Knowledge of food safety standards; able to stand and work long hours
