The Snack Steward/Café Attendant is responsible for supporting efficient food and beverage operations across quick-service and buffet-style outlets, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and hygiene in line with company policies and public health regulations. Duties include setting up and maintaining self-service areas, assisting with buffet and a la carte service, preparing mise-en-place, and replenishing condiments and supplies. The role involves supporting Waiters and Assistant Waiters, serving beverages, and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized. Strong guest interaction, flexibility, and product knowledge are essential. Additional tasks may include luggage assistance, stock rotation, garbage handling, and participation in safety drills and onboard events.
Qualifications
- Minimum six months of experience in food and beverage service; buffet or fast-food experience strongly preferred.
- Hospitality degree with at least four months of on-the-job training may be considered.
- Shipboard experience is a plus.
- Must be at least 21 years old, physically fit, and able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Flexible, guest-focused, and professional with excellent hygiene and knowledge of sanitary standards.
