The Cabin Steward/ess is responsible for delivering personalized, high-quality housekeeping service to guests by maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene in his/her assigned staterooms, guest corridors, and pantries. Duties include cleaning, bed making, replenishing amenities, minibar management, balcony and bathroom sanitation, and reporting maintenance issues. The role involves guest interaction, luggage handling, towel art, ice delivery, and occasional assistance in other departments. Compliance with MLC 2006, USPH, safety, and hygiene standards is essential. The Cabin Steward/ess must uphold excellent grooming, attend daily briefings, handle chemicals safely, and consistently exceed guest expectations through professional, guest-oriented service and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of housekeeping experience, cleaning 10–20 rooms daily in a premium brand cruise line or 5-star hotel.
- Previous shipboard experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to deliver high standards of cleanliness and guest service in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be physically fit, able to lift and handle 50+ lbs of luggage, and perform extensive walking and standing for long hours.
- Strong guest service focus with a positive attitude, professional appearance, and excellent hygiene standards.
- Effective English communication skills, especially with native English-speaking guests.
- Must be comfortable using cleaning tools, chemicals, and handling hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of Public Health and Sanitation compliance is essential.
- Ability to interact professionally with guests of all ages, including children.
