They ensure clear, respectful communication with patients and demonstrate cultural sensitivity. The Doctor is expected to respond promptly to medical needs, manage clinical operations effectively, and consult the shoreside management when necessary. Responsibilities include ordering tests, making referrals, and supporting senior medical staff when needed. They play a key role in mentoring and developing the medical team, participating in continuous learning, and using IT for professional growth. The Doctor assists in maintaining public health standards, managing infection control, supporting audits, and delivering health education. Financial responsibilities include appropriate billing and cost-conscious care. They ensure safety and compliance with maritime and healthcare regulations. The role also includes monitoring customer satisfaction, engaging positively with guests and crew, supporting corporate values, and promoting a respectful, inclusive, and motivating work culture.
Qualifications
- Holds valid ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certificates (or recognized equivalents).
- Medical license from the applicable national or ALISA registration required.
- Experience in surgery, internal medicine, general practice, or anesthesia.
- Relevant emergency and acute care experience; remote medicine experience preferred.
- Good IT proficiency required for clinical documentation and communication tasks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively in multicultural teams.
- Empathetic, caring, and guest-focused, with a solid understanding of hospitality industry values..
- Demonstrated leadership through motivation and a positive example.
- Excellent English language skills. Other language skills may also be required.
