The Galley Utility is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all galley and buffet areas, ensuring compliance with company standards and USPH/Public Health regulations. Duties include washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using industrial machines or manual methods, as well as cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces. The role requires proper handling of chemicals and waste, garbage separation, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Galley Utilities may be assigned to dishwashing, pot washing, night cleaning, or provision support. Strong work ethic, flexibility, safety awareness, and adherence to sanitation protocols are essential for success.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding or hospitality-related role preferred.
- Cruise ship experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work long hours in hot, humid, and busy conditions.
- Ability to lift and move heavy industrial kitchen equipment.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, team player, flexible, and stress-resistant.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, with a positive attitude and professional appearance.
