The Hotel General Manager oversees the entire hotel operation onboard, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, adherence to high-quality standards, and efficient, cost-effective service delivery. This includes managing all hotel departments, maximizing onboard revenue, upholding STAR Service Standards, and maintaining full compliance with Public Health and safety policies. The role requires hands-on leadership, especially during peak service hours, and collaboration with ship and shore-side teams. Responsibilities include operational planning, cost control, crew development, guest interaction, and safety enforcement. The GM leads by example, ensures cross-departmental coordination, and fosters a service-driven, professional, and guest-focused onboard culture aligned with company values.

Qualifications

  • Degree in hotel management, business administration, or equivalent hospitality education
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Hotel General Manager, with strong operational, financial, and leadership focus * Prior cruise ship experience is essential.
  • Proven skills in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written); additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong computer proficiency (databases, spreadsheets, word processing).
  • Hands-on leadership of diverse, multicultural teams; strong coaching and team-building skills.
  • High guest service orientation, professionalism, and impeccable hygiene standards.
  • Deep understanding of public health policies and safety regulations.
  • Stress-resistant, adaptable, and positive attitude with excellent product knowledge and guest relations skills.
  • Strong intercultural awareness and international hospitality experience.
