A Housekeeping Utility/Custodial team member is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all guest, crew, and public areas onboard, ensuring a high standard of service and compliance with safety and sanitation regulations. Duties include vacuuming, dusting, mopping, restroom cleaning, open deck and spa area maintenance, crew and officer cabin cleaning, balcony washing, and handling luggage during embarkation and disembarkation. The role involves the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, proper PPE usage, and working various shifts including day, night, and private island assignments. Team members also assist guests with information and directions and report maintenance issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in a utility or custodial role within a premium hospitality environment, or formal hospitality training with at least six months of experience.
- Previous cleaning experience with use of chemicals and cleaning tools.
- Knowledge of floor care and experience operating floor cleaning equipment preferred.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift 50+ lbs., bend, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Strong English communication skills and ability to interact with native English-speaking guests.
- Experience in guest service–focused environments preferred.
- Flexible to work rotating day and night shifts.
- Team-oriented, professional, well-groomed, and compliant with hygiene and public health standards.
