The IT Officer (System Manager) is responsible for the reliable operation and maintenance of all IT services onboard. This includes overseeing the ship’s IT infrastructure, software systems, and IT team to ensure seamless performance and user support. Key duties involve managing IT services and equipment, warehouse and inventory oversight, and ensuring system operations align with corporate standards. The IT Officer provides local user support, represents IT across departments, and enforces IT security protocols in coordination with the Brand IT Compliance Officer. Leadership, team development, and strict adherence to onboard health and safety regulations are also essential responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
- Several years of IT service experience in industrial environments, including planning and implementing large-scale IT projects.
- Completed apprenticeship in IT or equivalent qualification.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, particularly with multicultural teams.
- Proven experience managing employees, with excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Familiarity with onboard IT and communication systems.
- Marine or tourism industry experience is an advantage.
- Service-oriented, proactive, and strategic thinker with strong teamwork, empathy, and diplomacy when working with stakeholders and service providers.
