The Laundry Manager is responsible for overseeing all laundry operations onboard, ensuring adherence to ISO/ISM standards, MLC 2006, and Vessel Sanitation Program guidelines. This includes leading a 24/7 laundry team, maintaining high-quality standards for guest and crew linens, and ensuring proper use, maintenance, and safety of all equipment. The role involves daily inspections, inventory control, chemical handling (with SDS compliance), and operating within budget for supplies and equipment. The manager provides leadership, coaching, and training to staff, ensures accurate timekeeping, and upholds safety and hygiene protocols, while coordinating closely with housekeeping, technical, and other departments for seamless operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum three to four years Laundry management experience on ships or hotel/resort; high volume experience is required.
- Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management Degree a plus.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, Fidelio, Outlook) required.
- Ability to motivate a diverse Crew a plus.
- Self-starter, requiring minimal direction while providing timely communication and updates to leadership.
- Knowledgeable in dry and wet cleaning equipment and chemicals necessary.
- Familiar with tunnel washer/dryer, tunnel finisher and big washer extractor necessary.
- Knowledgeable in different type of fabrics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cost control, inventory and managing revenue center essential.
