The Night Auditor is responsible for independently managing reception and front desk operations during the night shift, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction. Key duties include handling guest inquiries and complaints, reconciling accounts, completing end-of-day closing procedures, and preparing billing statements for passenger and crew accounts. The role involves revenue and void control, generating financial reports, maintaining accurate documentation, and safely managing assigned cash. Additional responsibilities include assisting with ship clearance procedures, using the PA system, initiating repair orders, and ensuring compliance with company, SOX, and public health standards. The Night Auditor plays a critical role in overnight ship operations and financial accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong command of English; additional languages (e.g., German, French) are an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management systems (PMS).
- Prior experience in auditing, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred; a degree in a related field is a plus.
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar role (e.g., night auditor or front desk agent in hotel or resort).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in financial tasks.
- Effective problem-solving and complaint-handling abilities.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and shipboard safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently, with professionalism and a positive attitude.
