The Nurse is responsible for supporting medical operations and delivering high-quality patient care on board. Duties include collecting patient data, preparing for consultations, triaging, administering medication, and assisting with procedures and special examinations. Nurses conduct lab tests, assist with x-rays, and provide emergency medical assistance ship-wide when needed. They manage patient documentation, communicate with patients and families, and act as translators when necessary. Financial duties include invoicing, inventory checks, and supporting equipment and medication management. The Nurse also assists in sterilization, maintenance scheduling, record archiving, customs reporting, and safe disposal of biohazards. Compliance with HESS, safety regulations, and company policies is essential. The Nurse participates in audits, meetings, emergency response drills, and stretcher team training, working closely under the supervision of the Lead Nurse and Doctors to maintain the smooth, safe operation of the medical department.
Qualifications
- State-certified nursing degree with a valid certificate of competency.
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS, ALS, or equivalent).
- Registered with the applicable national medical board.
- Minimum three years of professional nursing experience.
- At least six months’ experience in emergency room, anesthesia, or intensive care.
- Skilled in basic airway management and patient assessment/triage.
- Proficient in administering intravenous medications and evaluating patient needs.
- Adequate knowledge of electronic data processing systems.
- Able to work independently with strong organizational skills.
