The Photo Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and successful operation of the photography department onboard, ensuring alignment with company standards and guest satisfaction targets. This role involves independently managing daily operations, coordinating offers, overseeing photo shoots, and supervising technical and sales support during opening hours. Responsibilities include resource management, collaboration with other departments, and the use of tools like Crunchtime for processing orders. The Photo Manager also delivers workshops, manages wedding and portrait photography, and supports new ship planning. Key leadership tasks include scheduling, training, evaluating team members, ensuring safety and compliance with HESS and ECP guidelines, and driving revenue targets. The manager oversees quality control, maintains equipment, audits image quality, and manages inventory. They are also accountable for team performance, continuous development, and sales strategy execution. Close coordination with shoreside management and guest-facing professionalism are essential to the role’s success.

Qualifications

  • Completed training as a photographer or image editor (retoucher).
  • Additional training such as management seminars preferred.
  • Minimum five years of professional photography experience.
  • Minimum three years of management or leadership experience.
  • Experience in retail operations and team supervision.
  • Shipboard photography experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of digital image processing using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Expertise in the operation and maintenance of Minilab Fuji Frontier.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, Crunchtime, and Micros.
  • Basic understanding of economics and business operations.
  • Proven ability to manage staff, drive sales, and ensure high guest satisfaction.
