The Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of the ship’s water distribution, sewage, and drainage systems, including vacuum toilets, grey water filters, and steam or water-operated galley equipment. Tasks include planned and emergency maintenance, pipe installations, and ensuring USPH and regulatory compliance. The role requires self-motivation, the ability to work independently, coordination with engineers, hotel staff, and tradespeople, and courteous conduct in guest areas. The plumber also maintains tools and inventory, prepares reports through systems like Espresso, and may oversee pool equipment. On-call duty and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental protocols are mandatory.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma in Mechanics or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience, including at least 2 years onboard large cruise vessels.
  • Proficient in vacuum toilet systems, Loro Vac, Loro X, pressfit, and GF pipe technologies.
  • Skilled in welding (TIG and MIG), electric and gas welding, and metal/pipe fabrication.
  • Experience maintaining coffee machines, washing machines, and laundry equipment.
  • Familiar with USPH guidelines and safety regulations.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, with clear communication and radio discipline
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, hardworking, and able to work independently or in teams.
