The Receptionist is responsible for the smooth daily and weekly operation of the front desk under the supervision of the Reception Manager, ensuring all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints are handled promptly, politely, and professionally. Duties include check-in/check-out of guests and crew, accurate maintenance of guest and crew lists, handling of cash, foreign exchange, and sales of postcards and internet cards. The role involves managing mail, lost and found, and administrative records, ensuring confidentiality at all times. The Receptionist also assists with flight coordination, guest communication, stock control, and supports the First Purser in clearance procedures at ports of call.

Qualifications

  • Education in hospitality, tourism, or guest service industry; a high school diploma is required, with a degree preferred.
  • Several years of experience in customer-facing roles, ideally in hotels, resorts, or cruise ships.
  • Prior experience as a Front Office Supervisor or Manager on board is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with experience in complaint resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages (e.g., German, Spanish) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and cruise-specific software.
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance with courteous demeanor.
