The Retail Sales Associate supports smooth daily operations of the onboard shop by ensuring professional organization of the assigned retail and storage areas in line with company standards. This includes independently managing tasks, actively engaging in sales, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves maintaining appealing merchandise displays, handling cashier duties, restocking from storage, and receiving goods. Additional responsibilities include assisting with inventory counts, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety regulations, and maintaining cleanliness in both shop and storage areas. The Retail Assistant plays a vital role in driving sales and enhancing the guest shopping experience at sea.
Qualifications
- Completed professional training in retail or related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in retail or a similar customer-facing role; cruise, duty-free, or luxury retail experience preferred.
- Strong sales skills with a proven ability to meet revenue targets through excellent service and product knowledge.
- Experienced in visual merchandising, product presentation, and store decoration.
- In-depth knowledge of textiles, jewelry/watches, and/or perfumes and cosmetics.
- Dynamic, service-oriented, self-motivated, and strongly sales-driven.
- Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage.
- Physically fit to work long hours, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 25 kg.
- Adaptable to a multicultural team environment and able to commit to 6-month onboard contracts.
