The Sound & Light Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of lighting, audio, and A/V systems across all entertainment venues onboard. This role supports a variety of live performances, presentations, and events, ensuring high-quality technical delivery and consistency throughout each production. Responsibilities include programming and operating lighting and audio consoles, rigging and circuiting equipment, troubleshooting during live shows, and performing maintenance on technical systems. The role also involves supporting special events and ensuring safety standards are met. Attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating professional lighting and sound systems for live events.
  • Familiarity with DMX, audio patching, and digital consoles (e.g., Yamaha, GrandMA).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at height on ladders or scaffolding.
  • Proficient in basic technical troubleshooting and component-level maintenance.
  • Knowledge of QLab, Dante, DSP networking, and A/V integration preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in technical theater preferred.
