The Spa Manager is responsible for independently overseeing the daily operations of the Spa Department onboard, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and team performance while meeting budget and revenue targets. Duties include staff scheduling, inventory and stock control, performance reviews, and employee development. The Spa Manager leads by example, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, service, and treatment quality are consistently met. They actively manage guest interactions—providing information, handling bookings, resolving complaints, and maximizing sales through cross-promotion. The role also involves coordinating with shoreside services, developing spa offerings, conducting treatments, and maintaining operational excellence across spa and fitness areas.

Qualifications

  • Professional training as a physical therapist, massage therapist, beautician, hairdresser, or fitness trainer.
  • Additional certifications in spa management and advanced spa treatments such as facials, body wraps, and aromatherapy.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in spa or wellness management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably onboard a cruise ship or in a luxury setting.
  • Strong business and sales skills, including budgeting, revenue forecasting, and managing treatment and retail sales targets.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience training and motivating multicultural teams.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluency in English required, additional languages an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and spa booking or POS systems.
  • Physically fit to manage long shifts and onboard operational demands; completion of STCW safety training required.
