The Tailor is responsible for the repair, alteration, and maintenance of crew uniforms, guest clothing, curtains, and other fabric items onboard. Duties include issuing and inventorying uniforms, tracking linen changes, and ensuring all items meet company standards for quality and quantity. The role involves handling sign-on/off procedures, updating data in systems, and managing inventory levels for tailoring supplies and accessories. The Tailor inspects and verifies material deliveries, maintains proper storage, and ensures uniform stock is well-preserved. Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, fabric types, and machine operation is essential, along with a professional approach to crew and guest service.
Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in tailoring or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a tailor or seamstress, ideally in hospitality or commercial dry cleaning.
- Proficient in hand-stitching and machine-sewing techniques.
