The Wine Specialist supports dining and beverage operations by conducting guest wine tastings, food pairings, and educational seminars, while also training staff on wine sales techniques. They manage wine and liquor inventory, ensure proper storage and hygiene of wine cellars in compliance with USPH standards, and assist in wine selection and purchasing decisions. This role requires strong knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and trends, along with a solid understanding of other alcoholic beverages.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in wine service and guest-facing roles.
- Formal wine education or certification required.
- Shipboard experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of both Old World and New World wines.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage assigned responsibilities.
- Outgoing and engaging personality with strong guest interaction skills.
