The 2nd Housekeeper supports the 1st Housekeeper and Executive Housekeeper in managing daily housekeeping operations across guest staterooms, public areas, and crew zones, ensuring impeccable cleanliness, hygiene, and service in compliance with USPH, MLC 2006, and company policies. Responsibilities include supervising and coaching a multicultural team, conducting daily inspections, managing inventories, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, handling guest concerns, and ensuring effective communication within the department. The role involves scheduling, training, performance management, and participation in public health inspections. A key focus is on quality service delivery, team development, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency, while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of housekeeping management experience on cruise ships or in 5-star hotels; high-volume operations experience is essential.
- At least 2 years in a similar role (e.g., Assistant Chief Housekeeper) within a premium hospitality environment; shipboard experience preferred.
- Degree in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is preferred.
- Proven leadership in managing and motivating a diverse, multicultural team.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong guest-service mindset, attention to detail, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with Fidelio and AIMS systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Public Health and Sanitary Policy compliance.
- Effective under pressure; strong administrative, coaching, and stress management skills.
