The General Technician supports the daily technical operations of entertainment venues, assisting with the setup, execution, and breakdown of shows, lectures, and shipwide events. This role requires foundational knowledge of lighting, sound, and video systems, as well as flexibility in supporting backstage needs and equipment troubleshooting. General Technicians ensure safe and clean environments, assist with technical repairs, and help maintain the quality and consistency of live performances. Clear communication, attention to detail, and a service-oriented approach are essential. This position works closely with stage management and contributes to a high-quality guest experience through technical excellence and operational support.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of sound, lighting, and video equipment; technical theater experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and respond to equipment needs during live performances.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and remain active for extended periods.
- Comfortable navigating catwalks, scaffolding, and backstage environments.
- Strong communication skills; fluent in English and able to give clear instructions.
- Excellent teamwork, flexibility, and time management under pressure.
